Dear Parents
You have received various information about autism from many sources so far. In many of these sources, it is stated that there is no cure for autism, it will last a lifetime and some progress can only be achieved with special education.
However, contrary to what you have read and heard, there may be other medical problems accompanying the current problem observed in children with autism, as in every child, and they may aggravate the current problems even more.
When these accompanying problems are resolved, it is possible to make progress in regressing and even eliminating many of the disturbing findings observed in autism.
However, it should not be forgotten that every child is different. They have different genetic substructures and these cause different metabolic problems. Different bacteria and fungi that cause intestinal problems also cause different findings. The effects of environmental factors bring them to different places. In other words, since the problems accompanying autism may be very different from each other, the problems requiring help will also be very different. Therefore, there are always different needs and different treatments, different education or different diets may be required. Therefore, all recommendations must be personalized for that patient.
The duration of treatment also depends on the results of the initial tests and other research, and how much of what needs to be done according to the data obtained in these tests can be done by you and to what extent. It also varies greatly depending on how much of a response your child has to all that has been done.
In such a complex task, a definite result and duration cannot be given, if someone gives a clear duration in such a case, it should be considered that the primary purpose is not scientific or the sincerity in helping should be questioned.
My wife and I have been fighting in the field of autism for over 20 years. We have held conferences, seminars, TV programs, interviews, books, web pages, scientific articles, and congress presentations in Turkey and abroad. In 2013, we wrote the book “There is a Solution to Autism” together with my dear friend, Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Health and Diseases, Department of Nutrition and Metabolism, Professor Ahmet Aydın. Despite the existing wrong or incomplete approaches and practices in our country, every child can make progress, albeit at different rates, with the support provided to eliminate their accompanying medical problems, and it is very normal for this to be so. Because when what is missing is replaced, of course a positive change is the expected result. Some can make progress at a rate of 10%, some at a rate of 100%, this is determined by the factors we have mentioned above.
My advice to you is to first try to determine the reasons that cause the current problems. Then, question how we can eliminate them. But the most important thing is to decide to set out with this purpose. Then, a road map is drawn according to the developments and the goal is tried to be reached by finding the truths as much as possible and doing the right things as much as possible.
The result may not always be what you expect, because some of the causes of the problem may be permanent (such as brain damage due to lack of oxygen during birth), but on the contrary, it is possible to get more than you expected, and this is a situation we have observed many times.
How does the treatment process work:
- First of all, a decision is made in light of what is stated in the inquiry form, the answers given to the questions during the appointment, the results of the previous tests you sent and what is observed in the child.
- If these are insufficient to determine the roadmap, more detailed tests are recommended.
- All the accompanying results of the tests and the problems observed according to these results are shared with the family.
- It is explained what these problems may lead to and what can be done for each.
- Then, treatment plans are made together with the family according to the family’s possibilities and the situations of other family members.
- In other words, your opinion is taken at every stage and a path is tried to be found according to what you can do.
- This is the right thing to do, making suggestions that cannot be done does not contribute to the treatment.
- Unfortunately, information is not always the solution, and using the possibilities in the most efficient way is the main thing in our approach.

Who is Dr. Necip Cem Kınacı MD ?
He was born in Istanbul in 1958. He studied at Heybeliada Primary School, Heybeliada Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar Jr. High School, Andrew Jackson Jr. High School (Maryland-USA), Naval High School and Naval Academy. He graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1984. He completed his specialization in the Nuclear Medicine Department of Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1990. He served as the Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Atatürk University and Mersin University Faculties of Medicine.
He worked in leading hospitals in the countries he was in, such as Söğütözü Bayındır Hospital, Taksim German Hospital, Italian Giovanni Alberto Agnelli Hospital, Kadıköy Florence Nightingale Hospital, Skopje Acıbadem – Sistina Hospital, Universal Çamlıca Hospital, Baku Merkez Klinika Hospital and Baku Grand Hospital.
After his son Ata was diagnosed with autism, 2004 was the year the Kınacı family declared war on autism. Especially with the intense support of his wife, Dr. Kınacı was driven to specialize in this field. To this end, he received training at the Autism Research Institute between 2005-2008 and became the first and only DAN! doctor in Turkey. He then received training on the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in neurological diseases at the American College for Advancement in Medicine and advanced assessments in autism biomedical treatment at the Medical Academy for Pediatric Special Needs.
